_What’s the job?_
Under the direction of the Plant Manager in CertainTeed's Wood Center of Excellence in Strongsville, Ohio, the Production Supervisor is responsible for meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals through continuous improvement and building trust, empowerment and collaboration within the Production team.
Areas of focus include:
+ Communicates metrics, issues and expectations to direct reports, holding them accountable to deliver results
+ Ensures production associates are equipped to meet customer requirements in terms of product quality and delivery
+ Works with associates to identify opportunities for production improvement to maximize scheduled production run rates and efficiencies
+ Audits production area for compliance to Company programs (Safety, 5S, Standard Operating Procedures, quality testing, etc.)
+ Coaches/mentors employees to encourage growth and development
+ Fosters open communication, encourages feedback to promote a positive work environment and increased employee engagement
+ Performs data entry as required (timekeeping, ERP, quality systems, etc.). Manages timekeeping records, attendance reporting and disciplinary actions
+ Works with Leadership team to address issues (scheduling, customer complaints, equipment downtime, etc.)
_What do you bring?_
+ High School diploma required with 3-5 years of experience in- manufacturing operations/production with a focus on safety and quality in a manufacturing setting or 3 years military experience.
+ Wood fabrication experience is highly preferred .
+ Demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Experience in World Class Manufacturing (WCM) or Lean manufacturing preferred
+ Computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Good oral/written communication skills. Ability to collaborate with all team members.
