Production Supervisor from Elgen Staffing

Our client, a global manufacturer of paper and plastic products, has an immediate need for an experienced Production Supervisor, to join our winning team in South Plainfield.

Our candidate of choice will be a high-energy, self-starter who speak English and Spanish and is passionate about manufacturing with at least two years’ experience as a Production Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Shift production operations. Recognize and solve problems affecting production including schedules, staff, waste and quality.
• Responsible for the smooth and cost efficient running of the plant.
• Ensure Employees are following safety procedures. Guards are in place and being used. LOTO procedures are being followed.
• Responsible for the safe operation of equipment on shift.
• Ensure employees are following quality procedures: Good Manufacturing Practices, Lot Control Procedures, Customer Specifications are being met
• Ensure that employees are performing up to expectations in both productivity and waste.
• Counsel and correct improper techniques that are affecting productivity and quality.
• Provide feedback for areas of improvement.
• Ensure employees are keeping work areas clean and free of debris and contaminants.
• Responsible for reporting issues related to Food Packaging safety or quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Evaluate employees of their job skills. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years or older.
• 2+ years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory experience needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a MUST
• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work 10-12 hour shift, standing for long periods of time.
• Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Shows concern for quality work and efficiencies.
• Ability to work weekends as needed. (Rotate weekends with other Supervisors).
