Production Supervisor- Paint Department - Expert Staffing

Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Supervisor to lead their dynamic Paint Department. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you’ll supervise hourly personnel, manage paint and powder coat operations, and ensure that products meet the highest quality standards.

Starting Rate: $26.00/Hr.

Schedule: 6:00am-4:00pm (Monday-Thursday) 6:00am-12:00pm (Friday)

Production Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Leadership: Oversee daily operations in the paint/powder coat department, ensuring quality standards, efficiency, and safety practices are met.
• Production Planning: Organize, plan, and control all paint/powder coat operations according to production schedules and work orders.
• Employee Development: Train, motivate, and develop employees to maximize efficiency and productivity while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations, and enforce safe work practices throughout the department.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect incoming components for quality, address non-conformance reports, and actively participate in root cause analysis to implement effective solutions.
• Equipment & Maintenance: Maintain equipment and tools in top condition, communicate repair needs to maintenance, and ensure good housekeeping practices are upheld.
• Reporting & Documentation: Manage production reports, including daily paint and production reports, in compliance with internal and DEP regulations.
• Cross-Training & Backup: Assist in cross-training personnel to ensure smooth department operations and adequate staffing.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Plant Manager, other departments, and both internal and external customers to ensure seamless operations and high-quality production.

Production Supervisor Skills & Requirements:

• Experience: 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role, or a 2-year technical degree plus 2 years of manufacturing experience and 1 year in a leadership role.
• Technical Expertise: Solid working knowledge of paint/powder coat operations, including mixing, blending, application methods, color matching, and equipment management.
• Quality Control: Experience with metrology and measuring instruments related to paint/powder density, and the ability to inspect and troubleshoot paint/powder coat finishes.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, ensuring high levels of productivity, quality, and morale.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for addressing quality issues and operational challenges and implementing lasting solutions.
• Multitasking Ability: Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring all deadlines and quality standards are met.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with paint color matching software, powder coating operations control systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred) with relevant experience in manufacturing.
• Language Skills: Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred but not required.
