Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators.
2. Ensure that all processes are carried out in accordance with the company safety, quality, and production standards.
3. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and practices, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
4. Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to reduce process variation and improve product quality.
5. Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
6. Strive for cost reduction while maintaining the highest manufacturing standards.
7. Oversee the inventory management process, ensuring optimal inventory levels and accuracy.
8. Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
9. Participate in strategic planning and goal-setting for the department, aligning with the overall company objectives.
10. Conduct performance management processes to ensure team members are meeting job requirements and goals.
11. Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
3. Proven experience in production management.
4. Excellent understanding of quality control standards and testing methodologies.
5. Proficiency with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
6. Demonstrated knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
7. Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
8. Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
9. Attention to detail.
10. Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach.
11. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
12. Proficient in MS Office and ERP software.
13. Certification in Lean Six Sigma and/or other industry-related certifications would be advantageous.
14. Knowledge of safety standards and a dedication to maintaining a safe, clean workspace.
