Production Supervisor - Georgia-Pacific

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Production Supervisor for 3 rd Shift at our Milford, NJ Facility. The Supervisor will utilize leadership, operations experience, and communication to identify and implement change improvement opportunities related to people, process, and systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate safety as a value and lead a crew of employees to exceed production expectations for the shift. The candidate must be self-driven and demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and manufacturing excellence. The candidate will also possess strong interpersonal communication and technical skills as well as being capable of leading transformation initiatives.

The team at Milford specializes in corrugated sheet making. Milford is located in the Lehigh Valley and is conveniently located 90 minutes from New York City and Philadelphia for plenty of opportunity to unique activities outside of work. What You Will Do

• Your primary responsibility is to help your team develop and maximize their contributions by apply our Principle Based Management (PBM®) Philosophy.
• Work with each individual on your team by providing honest, direct and timely feedback, to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
• Drive safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement appropriate mitigating strategies; investigate incidents and participate in resolution of causes
• Ensure best practices are followed for minimization of waste at machine centers
• Ensure all quality testing is being done properly and effective actions are quickly taken, where there are deficiencies, to drive a world class level of customer satisfaction.
• Plan, assign and direct work for all hourly production employees; appraise performance and provide feedback as needed; assist in resolving complaints; hold employees accountable as needed; communicate issues and results on a daily basis

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• One (1) year or more of supervising employees within amanufacturing, production, industrial OR military environment
• Experience coaching and developing a team
• Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging/containerboard industry
• Experience working with KIWI application
