Shift Details:
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM.
Job Purpose:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the 2nd and 3rd shift production of high-quality print materials, ensuring timely, accurate output that meets the highest standards of customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service. The Production Lead plays a key role in managing the workflow, optimizing production processes, and fostering a positive, safety-first workplace culture.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage production teams, including temporary workers as needed, on the 2nd and 3rd shifts.
- Assist in the development, coaching, and training of team members to build skills and ensure ongoing improvement.
- Provide hands-on leadership to ensure the timely and accurate completion of print production projects, while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Identify and implement cost reduction and containment strategies within assigned areas to enhance production efficiency.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to ensure on-time delivery of print jobs.
- Perform daily and weekly quality checks to uphold high standards.
- Lead the department's SPQDC (Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost) and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) metric reviews. Metrics may include: production output, defect rates, on-time delivery, labor efficiency, etc.
- Investigate issues and drive corrective action to prevent recurrence of production problems.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure compliance with 3S/5S audits to support efficiency and safety.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize and enhance production processes.
- Serve as an advocate for a positive workplace culture and safety, actively contributing to the Safety Team and Leadership Team.
- Lead performance assessments, provide feedback, and develop career progression plans for team members.
- Develop and implement a daily/weekly cycle count program to maintain inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience in print production or a related manufacturing environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
- Familiarity with EPS Pace or similar production management software is a plus.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours and lead 2nd/3rd shift operations.
