Shifts are rotating 12 hour shifts, days and nights available!
Our client is seeking experienced Production Supervisors for their newly opened facility in Columbus, OH. The Production Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the manufacturing process, overseeing the efficient and high-quality production of thermoformed packaging materials.
In this challenging and dynamic position, the supervisor is responsible for coordinating and leading a team of packers and machine operators. Their primary objective is to ensure that production goals are met while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintains good housekeeping and follows all safety policies in the department, as well as promotes continuous improvement of safety and housekeeping among shift.
· Maintains adherence to customer specifications and utilizes the Quality Management System for handling deviations.
· Maintains team member proficiency by utilizing the Learning & Development processes and resources.
· Reviews daily production schedule for the department to plan work and personnel assignments for the shift and clearly delegates both routine and important tasks and decisions to others in the department.
· Supervises and develops among assigned personnel, a consciousness for the need for teamwork to attain department objectives and to meet established performance goals.
· Interviews applicants for department jobs and recommends the best candidates to HR for hiring. With department trainer and safety committee member, conducts orientation of new hires and their safety training on shift.
· Conducts introductory and annual performance reviews of each department employee and recommends performance increases, retraining, transfer, or termination.
· Collaborates with other PAC departments, such as Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, and Planning to meet Safety, Quality, and Performance standards.
· Communicates applicable updates and metrics to appropriate Department Managers.
· Anticipates and determines causes of delays in shift operations and takes appropriate action to meet schedule completion.
Qualifications:
· Must have strong personal leadership and communication abilities.
· Must possess excellent attention to detail, problem solving and follow-up with a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
Education and/or Experience:
· High school diploma or GED; some college (mechanical technology or related field) preferred
· One to two years of related experience and/or training
· Two or more years of lead/supervisory experience, preferably in a plastics manufacturing environment
