For this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:

• A High School Diploma or GED, from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 3 year of supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

For this position to be successful, preference is given to candidates with:

• The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) and delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
• A high degree of interpersonal skills to motivate and influence others, including those not under their direct supervision.
• Demonstrated ability of problem solving, systems thinking, project management, and team building.

• Bachelor's degree, from an accredited institution, in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, or Business.

This position involves minimal exposure to risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions. Work is normally performed in a shared work environment, divided between the shop floor and an atypical office space. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full PPE to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor.

This position requires light to moderate physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.

This position also requires a willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule, which includes working 26 weekends out of the year. Basic Qualifications

Ho Howmet Aerospace Cleveland Operations, a forging facility located at 1600 Harvard Ave., is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join its Operations Department. Under the direction of the SAIP Area Lead, this position is the first level of authority in the workplace by providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure that the hourly workforce is working safely, meeting customer demands, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals. Direct reports include the incumbent's respective area's and shift's hourly reports. The incumbent communicates continually with Operations Department Area Leads and other Production Supervisors. Externally, they communicate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring that all EHS policies are followed.
• Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions to meet goals.
• Identifying and implementing improvement plans.
• Solving problems to their root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Communicating with others effectively within and outside the work group.
• Maintaining all production and related quality assurance records.
• Providing leadership, direction, and motivation to people in assigned area.
• Scheduling hourly craft personnel to cover weekend shifts to safeguard the continuous operation of the business.
• Managing employee and labor relations effectively including contract administration, grievance handling, and day-to-day employee complaints/issues.
• Meeting or exceeding production goals, which includes monitoring output, safety, on-time delivery, and people initiatives within a traditional unit supervisor role.
• Directing the implementation of Howmet Business System initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow, and TPM improvements.
• Owning cost savings initiatives (degree implementation).
• Overseeing the clocking in and out procedures for all hourly crafts persons under their supervision to ensure that the HR Department receives the right information to pay employees correctly and on-time.
• Creating and submitting product orders for operational expense items based on departmental need to ensure the continual operation of the department with minimal operational interference.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
