About the Job
Position Summary:
Supervise production activities during the night shift, ensuring staff performance, quality control, and smooth operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all staff follow safety protocols and operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Provide ongoing training and technical support to ensure staff are properly trained and following work instructions and best practices.
- Identify and report any defective or non-conforming products.
- Perform quality control tasks as outlined in work instructions and as directed by production and quality leaders.
- Ensure product traceability by properly using the Data Collection System, keeping it functional and up to date.
- Monitor raw material inventory, ensuring the necessary stock is available to meet production schedules, and reorder as needed.
- Work with the Maintenance Technician to resolve equipment issues, following all established procedures.
- Communicate with the previous and following shifts' supervisors to share information about problems and solutions encountered during the shift.
- Report any production, quality, process, or staffing issues to the Production Manager immediately upon detection.
- Suggest process improvements to increase production yield, equipment uptime, and overall efficiency.
- Be prepared to step into any operational role during staff breaks or absences to maintain production flow.
- Work overtime as required to meet production goals.
- Minimize accidents and quality issues by following and enforcing safety and quality standards.
- Help maximize staff technical knowledge and engagement.
- Support team cooperation and communicate company updates to the shift.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve efficiencies and performance across the organization.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team and address personnel issues effectively
- Willingness to work flexible or rotating shifts
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of production experience
- Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience as a production supervisor in manufacturing
- Experience with production planning, controls, and ERP/MRP systems
Salary: $68,000 - $73,000 annually
