Overview:Supervise all production activities in the assigned production area. This includes having a solid understanding of the effective and efficient operations of highly automated equipment. It also includes ensuring proper documentation of in-process parameters as well as meeting all product quality and regulatory standards. This position is expected to be able to support production processes to cover employee absences, breaks and other events.
Qualifications:- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Experience in Food Manufacturing is preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Aptitude for running and understanding automated, mechanical equipment, and demonstrated mechanical reasoning
- Ability to oversee and supervise the activities of a team
- Demonstrated capacity to work with a team to deliver a high degree of productivity
- Works in accordance with, and supports, productions’ Standard Operating Procedures as outlined in the HACCP, SSOP, and Quality manuals
- Reliable, dependable, flexible with a “team player” orientation
- Willingness to speak up and review problems with Manager to determine best course of action, offering suggestions and providing clear communication of the problem
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to be effective
- Able to lead and manage teams, maintaining a high level of morale and discipline
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule as follows:
- Week 1: Monday 11 am - 8:30 pm, Wednesday 5 am - 2:30 pm, Thursday 5 am - 2:30 pm, Friday 11 am - 8:30 pm
- Week 2: Monday 5 am - 2:30 pm, Tuesday 5 am - 2:30 pm, Wednesday 11 am - 8:30 pm, Saturday 5 am - 2:30 pm, Sunday 5 am - 2:30 pm
- Manufacturing environment that is hot and humid
- May need to work outside in various temperatures
- May perform activities in an environment containing hazardous elements and requiring safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies and guidelines
- Work must be performed in a safe manner for personal protection and for the protection of other team members.
- All safety procedures, procedures described in SOPs, BPRs, and support the compliance of applicable ISO standards in all functional areas must be followed, enforced, and strictly complied with.
- Sitting, standing, walking, repetitive use of hands/arms/legs, and eye/hand coordination for 8+ hours a day.
- Occasional bending, reaching overhead, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling.
- Occasional need to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to operate cars, trucks, forklifts and other powered equipment and tools.
- Must be able to wear all PPE that is required.
- Understand end to end process flow and equipment capabilities
- Enforce conformance to standard operating procedures and all company policies
- Support improvements for effective and efficient operation of Production
- Ensure production and verification of finished product is to specifications
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records of production and product related parameters
- Understand and enforce all regulations and procedures, including USDA policies, allergen compliance
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe working environment in all storage areas, including the freezers
- Adhere to all safety standards
- Support all company initiatives and goals as assigned
- Will perform duties of all positions within Production
- Make decisions regarding production when needed
- Support any other activities assigned by the Manufacturing Manager
- All other duties as assigned
