We are hiring for a 2nd shift Production Supervisor for our Tri-Seal Division within Tekni-Plex. In this role, the supervisor will be responsible for making decisions and taking action so that established standards and practices in the Liners Production Department are maintained. Directs, manages and schedules the work of manufacturing personnel to maximize efficiency and meet shipping date commitments to customers.
Essential Job Duties:
- Establish required processes and procedures required for the new Liners Work Cell
- Oversee the hiring of the hourly workforce required for the new Liners Cell
- Day-to-day management and supervision of Production. Develop, review, update and implement Production Control procedures.
- Manage, implement, and grow the MOS structure of the department
- Maintain day-to-day communications with Production Manager concerning daily operations.
- Coordinate all R&D and trial materials and process flows.
- Work with Materials Management to review and update controls for inventory functions with periodic cycle counts of inventories; determine correctness of physical and perpetual inventory; develop formulas for control of min-max inventories; maintain weekly perpetual inventory of material movement (as appropriate).
- Provide resources for and implement cycle count program and periodic physical inventory
- Establish whether production dates can be met, or what can be done to meet them. Forecast future requirements for production and assist in scheduling processes as necessary.
- Monitor scrap removal and reduction programs. Report material losses on a monthly basis.
- Manage employee performance and prepare performance evaluations. Review employee performance periodically and in an objective fact based manner.
- Responsible for the training and development of personnel.
- Withhold product that does not meet requirements.
- Maintain files for late Production Identification.
- Develop formulas for issuing of Production Reports.
- Schedule staffing and follow up on timely completion work output.
- Interact and communicate with the Sales & Customer Service Departments on current running jobs.
- Ensures that data collection/reporting activities within the Manufacturing department are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
- Generate reports based on production performance that align with site, BU and corporate KPI’s
- Works closely with Manufacturing Process Engineer and QA in the development and implementation of Statistical Process Control.
What skills do you bring to the role?
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Engineering) or demonstrated work equivalent.
- Demonstrated team facilitation skills and success in implementing process improvements in conjunction with employee work teams.
- Demonstrated success in the implementation of Statistical Process Control techniques within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be computer literate and demonstrate capability in working with Excel spread sheets.
- Ability to operate and communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and in groups, under normal and stressful conditions.
- Ability to lead, motivate, select, train and instruct personnel. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

Management Responsibilities: Directly and indirectly supervises shift management and non-management employees in the Liners Production/Manufacturing area. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Language Skills: Must proficiently speak, read and write English with excellent communication skills.
