Overview
The Production Supervisor for the 2nd Shift plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating production activities during the evening hours. This position ensures that manufacturing processes are efficient, that quality standards are met, and that team members are motivated and trained effectively. The supervisor will be responsible for leading a team in a fast-paced environment, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations. The Schedule for this position is
2:30pm to 1am, Monday-Thursday
with the potential of overtime on
Fridays
.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily production operations during the 2nd shift.
Manage and direct a team of production workers, ensuring maximum efficiency.
Implement production schedules and monitor workflow to meet deadlines.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and regulations within the production area.
Conduct regular quality inspections of products and processes.
Identify and resolve production issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
Provide training and development for new and existing employees.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize production plans.
Enforce adherence to company policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Analyze production data and propose process improvements.
Monitor inventory levels and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.
Prepare staff schedules and manage overtime needs as necessary.
Facilitate communication within the team and with upper management.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role in manufacturing.
Strong understanding of production processes and machinery.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and production management software.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards.
Experience with quality control methodologies.
Ability to analyze production data and make data-driven decisions.
Demonstrated ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and overtime.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical aptitude to troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues.
