Production Supervisor, 2 shift - Carpenter Co.

SUMMARY: Supervises employees across multiple production lines in manufacture of molded polyurethane foam parts to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicates job expectations and provides coaching, counseling, and discipline to employees.
• Enforces systems, policies, and procedures.
• Maintains staff by assisting in the selecting, orienting, and training of employees; develops personal growth opportunities for associates.
• Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process.
• Operates turntable(s) when necessary.
• Initiates and fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Reports results of production on shift production reports; updates hourly production boards
• Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluates new equipment and techniques.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment on the shop floor by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Resolves personnel issues by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
• Maintains housekeeping at a high level within the department through involvement of all team members.
• Monitors quality of finished products by dock inspection
• Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Oversees and/or conducts training of new and existing employees.
• Helps develop, update, and maintain procedures and documentation for all Quality systems.
• Performs layered process audits. Recommends and implements action plans to correct deviations noted during audits.
• Works with EHS to identify significant safety and environmental impacts of plant operations and to establish goals and targets around significant environmental impact.
• Wears required PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, close toed shoes/boots with rubber sole base)
• Other duties may be assigned.

This position is Salaried Exempt and is not eligible for OT pay.
