This position will partner cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and warehousing primarily on the off-shifts serving as the shift expert to ensure quality assurance programs are consistently applied each time-every time to drive First Pass Quality in turn driving improvements in material yield and efficiency.
Hours: M-F 2:30 pm-10:30 pm
This role may require weekend work and overtime as needed.
NOTE: Hours are flexible as plant and business needs change
Pay: $22.75/ Hour
Core Job Duties:
- Support quality assurance programs in real-time on the production floor to assure that policies, procedures, specifications, and EQMS standards and regulatory requirements are consistently implemented.
- 80% floor time as a resource for production employees
- SME to off shifts on product specs and designations of premium branded products
- Aide in real-time decision making to support first pass quality and reduce rework
- Support material yield projects on off-shifts
- Provide quality and food safety support to both quality and production departments
- Conduit between OM, QM and PS and the production floor on the off shifts
- Additional support in training operators
- Other duties as designated by your manager
Experience-Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years quality experience in a production environment
Competencies-Skills (Required):
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite of programs
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
- High level of initiative for problem resolution and continuous improvement efforts
- Ability to work with team's cross-functionally
- Detail oriented
Competencies-Skills (Preferred):
- Associates/bachelor's degree Preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards/Oracle
- Well-developed time management and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to communicate in a variety of methods and with a variety of personalities
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and deal with a changing/evolving environment
Physical Requirements for production positions regularly include:
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
- Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
- Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where dust is present
- Shift schedules that include days, nights, and weekends, some holidays and periodic overtime
