QUALITY CONTORL: WHERE ATTENTOIN TO DETA IL IS A MUTS
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and Lead, this position is accountable for monitoring and ensuring quality control for all garments produced. Communicate with team members when garments are imperfect and need to be redone. Fold, tag, box and count garments, record styles and quantities of garments produced and prepare them for high post production or shipping.
A Typical Day (job functions) | Inspect + Sort + Fold + Count + Monitor + Organize
- Inspect all garments for correct ink/thread colors, proper logo placement, labels and general flaws
- Communicate with, or walk to, inventory department to gather garments needed.
- Trim loose threads, trim backing, and coloring threads
- Maintain Lakeshirts acceptable standard of quality per garment
- Sort, count and fold garments by size/color/garment style and prepare them for shipping
- Read and understand work orders and profiles to ensure each account is processed correctly
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Organize work flow
- Follows safety practices. Identifies problems and works to resolve safety issues as they occur in accordance to OSHA standards
- Works actively with others to get the job done
- Other duties as assigned

DOGHOUSE: WE ARE THE COLOR COMPANY | ALL THE LATEST TRENDS. EARTH-FRIENDLY & ORGANIC.
THE OPPORTUNITY: Under the direction of the Doghouse Dyeworks Supervisor, this position is responsible for folding and quality inspection of dyed garments, and communicating with team members when garments are imperfect and need to be redone.
A Typical Day (job functions) | Fold + Inspect + Organize + Repeat
- Folding and quality inspection of garments. Requires turning shirts right-side out, inspecting the front, back, sleeves and seams of each garment
- Knowledge of Doghouse Dyeworks' acceptable standards of quality per garment; understanding manufacturing defects (hole/thread pull/missing button) and difference between spots and what is inherent to the dye process
- Notify immediate supervisor of any problems concerning color, consistency or spotting on the garments
- Pull defective garments from dye load as folding. All defective garments are to be labeled, folded and accounted for on the load sheet as the end of each load and taken to appropriate defect area
- Read work profiles, change job status code on computer
- Operate pad printing machine to pad print garments with correct label
- Lift up to 40 lbs throughout the day
- Keep work area clean and orderly
- Organize work flow
- Follow safety practices; identify problems and work to resolve safety issues as they occur in accordance to OSHA standards
- Work actively with others to get the job done
- Other duties as assigned
SCREEN VALUE STREAM: PREPARE SCREENS TO BE DECORATED WITH THE BEST ARTWORK IN THE BIZ.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and Lead, this position is responsible for floating positions, as part of the Screen Value Steam process. These include: Screen Stretching, Coating, Burnroom Operator, Sprayout, Washroom. SVS team members provide the first crucial steps in the screenprint process.
SCREEN VALUE STREAM (SVS) = WHERE THE SCREENPRINT PROCESS STARTS
A Typical Day (job functions) | Stretch + Coat + Wash | Repeat
- Cutting & assembling mesh to be stretched on screens; understanding of mesh tension
- Running a pneumatic impact gun over a long period of time
- Verifying quality of screens and framing- find & fix flaws as needed
- Coating of screens
- Operate Direct to Screen Machine to 'burn' image into screen
- Sprayout screens to get ready for sending to screenprint
- Washout screens, including pulling tape and fixing screens, if broken
- Rotate and work in areas as needed.
- Follows safety practices. Identifies problems and works to resolve safety issues as they occur in accordance to OSHA standards.
- Works actively with others to get the job done.

Direct to Film (DTFX) = Heat Up Your Career | PRINT. CUT. HEAT. REPEAT.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Lakeshirts, a leading wholesale supplier of custom-designed apparel and accessories, is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Direct to Film (DTFx) & Heat Press operator. The ideal candidate will be able to help grow this operation by backing up the Lead in printing DTFx and spot sublimation designs, as well as being able to operate various heat press machines. This team member will also coordinate with adjacent departments in order to ensure the timely production of high-quality designs on garments and hats.
A Typical Day (job functions) | Prepare + Produce + Prioritize
- Operate the DTFx printer and heat press machines, including spot sublimation designs/application
- Ensure proper temperature, pressure, timing and precise application for each technique
- Convert and set up inks for the machine in via computer, ensuring they are ready for production
- Send approved art to the DTFx machine and oversee its operation
- Run the DTFx machine efficiently to produce high-quality designs on garments
- Perform quality control checks on garments to ensure impeccable quality
- Conduct light maintenance on the DTFx printer to ensure continuous operation
- Utilize Excel and Adobe Illustrator to manage art files and design setups
- Move jobs along our valuestream via computer program (Zion) to ensure timely delivery to the next department
- Solve problems that arise during machine operation or workflow, ensuring minimal disruptions and optimal efficiency
- Maintain Lakeshirts' acceptable standard of quality
- Follow safety practices; identify problems and work to resolve safety issues as they occur in accordance to OSHA standards
- Work actively with others in the department and company to achieve positive results
- Help in other areas as workflow allows, to contribute to our core value of TEAM
- Ability to lift 30-50 lbs continuously
- Perform other duties as assigned by the DTFx Lead, including special projects
Production Position Skills (qualifications)
- High school education desirable, but not required
- Basic computer experience required-excel, word, tablet
- Ability to work well in a team
- Must be able to read and problem solve
- Organization, with a solid understanding of efficient processes
- Ability to work well in a team and think independently
- Must be reliable, responsible and take direction well
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks for several hours
- Ability to be stand for 8-10 hours a day
- Previous production experience preferred, but not required
