SUMMARY
Edge Autonomy is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Planner to join our manufacturing team in the field of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) or Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). As the Production Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production schedule to meet customer demand while ensuring efficient utilization of resources. Your strong analytical skills, knowledge of production processes, and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams will contribute to the successful delivery of our UAS/UAV products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
- Develop and maintain the production schedule for UAS/UAV manufacturing, considering customer orders, production capacity, and material availability.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to understand customer demand, order requirements, and production priorities.
- Analyze production requirements, lead times, and capacity constraints to create an optimized production plan.
- Monitor and adjust the production schedule as necessary to accommodate changes in customer demand, production delays, or material availability.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth transition of products from development to production.
- Monitor production progress and identify potential bottlenecks or issues that may impact the schedule or product quality.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient utilization of resources, including labor, equipment, and facilities.
- Conduct regular capacity planning and resource allocation analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize production efficiency.
- Participate in production meetings to provide updates on the production schedule, address production-related issues, and gather input from cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, such as production output, cycle time, and on-time delivery, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and logistics teams to coordinate the movement of finished goods and ensure accurate inventory management.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production orders, work instructions, and specifications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in UAS/UAV technology, and manufacturing best practices to drive continuous improvement in the production planning process.
- Support the implementation of new production planning systems or tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Comply with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the production process.

QUALIFICATIONS
- The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar production scheduling role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the UAS/UAV industry.
- Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling methodologies, including capacity planning, lead time analysis, and material requirements planning (MRP).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and quality control.
- Proficiency in using production planning and scheduling software or tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to communicate company messages and feedback to broad array of diverse staff.
