Shift: Day Shift
The Production Planner reports to the Manager of Planning and Forecasting and is a key member of the Planning team.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plans finished goods and sub-assemblies through various production operations to align with customer requirements
- Monitors production activities to ensure schedules are adhered to and deadlines are met.
- Generates contingency plans to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.
- Works closely with other departments to ensure materials are received on-time.
- Tracks production performance.
- Interfaces and coordinates with various departments to resolve material and capacity constraints.
- Executes MRP signals generated by customer requirements, sales orders and forecasts/inventory levels.
- Works with the procurement department to advise on purchases for component needs.
- Participates in weekly meetings to review shortages/missed shipments and tablet demands.
- Handles cancellation requests from the Sales Department.
- Notifies the production control supervisor of any issues and overdue material that may jeopardize on-time deliveries to customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Must possess excellent analytical, organizational and communicational skills
- Ability to function under minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills in writing, and orally with keen attention to detail
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree (business preferred) or equivalent experience
- APICS classes/certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production planning/material control environment with MRP proficiency (QAD or SAP preferred).
Work Environment:
- In person. There is no remote option for this role.
- Overtime may be required from time to time.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
