Job Description: Production Planner
We have a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity for a Production Planner with a leading manufacturer of equipment for the utility industry in Hampton, GA. You will use your skills and experience for planning and preparing production schedules for the manufacturing of industrial or commercial products. Additionally, this role provides crucial inventory support to multiple departments.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain the flow of materials and assemblies between work centers.
- Create job packages and maintain all work orders by individual job numbers.
- Print and release labels for field boxes and coordinate pre-printed data packages.
- Generate status reports on work order exceptions using matched receipts and shop floor feedback.
- Direct the handling of material issues, including receiving errors, physical counts, location errors, and bin restocking.
- Manage and resolve inventory adjustments and maintain accurate inventory history.
- Address permanent routing corrections and collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure accuracy.
- Handle scrap, rework, and repairs, expediting replacement parts as needed.
- Coordinate with Supervisors to provide kits for live parts and non-floor-stocked items.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views; give and welcome feedback; contribute to building a positive team spirit; prioritize team success over individual interests; support everyones efforts to succeed.
- Work within approved budgets; contribute to profits and revenue; develop and implement cost-saving measures; conserve organizational resources.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a Technical School.
- At least 1 year of experience in inventory control and production planning in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
- Management experience.
