We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Production Planner to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a challenging role in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments, reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules, and conferring with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in inventory management, quality control, supply chain management, scheduling, strategic planning, and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement production plans and schedules to ensure efficient use of resources, meet production objectives, and maintain quality standards.
2. Collaborate with sales, operations, and supply chain teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
3. Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and human resource requirements.
4. Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules, and confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates.
5. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies for production.
6. Monitor production progress, anticipate potential issues, and implement solutions to mitigate risks.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions, and lead initiatives to implement these improvements.
8. Maintain accurate records of production data, including volume produced, downtime, and quality control results.
9. Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management in a manufacturing environment.
3. Proven experience in supply chain management, quality control, and strategic planning.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve issues in a timely manner.
5. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production planning software.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong attention to detail and commitment to achieving high quality standards.
9. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and build strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
