We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and hands-on Permanent Production Manager for our Wood Facility in the Manufacturing industry. This position is integral to our company's success, ensuring that our production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and of the highest quality. The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from raw materials to finished products, and will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and process management initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire production process, ensuring that all products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
- Manage a team of supervisors, providing guidance and leadership to ensure smooth operations across multiple shifts.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Manage production schedules to meet customer demand while minimizing overtime and costs.
- Monitor and control production costs, implementing cost-saving strategies where possible.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
- Work closely with other departments, including sales, logistics, and procurement, to ensure a seamless flow of information and materials.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a production leadership role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience managing supervisors and leading a team across multiple shifts.
- Extensive knowledge of wood or forest products is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing continuous improvement and process management initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvement.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in a relevant field such as manufacturing, engineering, or business management would be advantageous, but is not essential.
- Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations in the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in using production management software and other relevant computer applications.
