Title: Production Manager
Hours: 8am-430pm - Monday-Friday
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Location: Wood Dale, IL
Overview: Seeking a Production Manager to optimize processes, manage production schedules, and lead a team to ensure efficiency and quality in our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include minimizing waste, reducing inventory, and driving continuous improvement.
Job Summary:
- Manage, control and improve manufacturing processes.
- Organize workflow and level production and communicate status to senior management.
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks thereby assuring on time delivery.
- Monitor, measure and reduce material scrap and labor waste.
- Minimize work in process inventory.
- Minimize manufacturing lead times.
- Develop and train group leaders and supervisors.
- Manage all production and employee issues including reviews, benefits and disciplinary matters.
- Motivate, train and develop employees.
- Manufacture products of the highest quality.
- Participate in the selection of manufacturing equipment.
- Assist in projects (engineering, quality, etc.) when requested.
- Interface with engineering regarding design improvements.
- Ensure a safe and OSHA compliant work environment.
- Administer company policies and procedures including compliance programs as appropriate.
- Determine and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years related experience working in an assembly manufacturing environment with at least three years of supervisory/management experience.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts and methods such as bills of material, product costing, machine and tooling design and CAD.
- Proven track record of accomplishments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
- Excellent leadership, staff motivation and staff development skills.
