Position Overview:
The Customer Services (CS) business unit of Siemens Mobility is the North American market leader in the maintenance of passenger rail vehicles. As a leader in operations, the Production Manager drives a culture of dedication to safety, health, and the environment. It is ingrained as a core value in achieving extraordinary performance supporting a highly efficient production facility.
Our Customer Services facility in Lexington, NC will be focused on rail vehicles mid-life refurbishment, wreck repairs as well as rail vehicles components overhaul.
You will lead all aspects of the day-to-day operations our service facility. You will be responsible for production while interfacing and partnering with Project Management, Quality, Finance, Scheduling, Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Human Resources, and Environmental, Health, and Safety to ensure business objectives align and are met. This position will find opportunities for operational excellence and sitewide engagement in related projects and drive lean methodology using required operating procedures, standardized work instructions, and job safety analysis.

- Ensuring the safety of the workforce, vendors, and customers
- Ensuring diversity, inclusion, and involvement
- Ensuring that the factory is best-in-class and follows all regulations concerning Safety & Quality
- Ensuring excellent customer satisfaction by providing products & services from the factory on time and with the highest quality
- Achieving the proper cost position in the factory through:
- Standardization
- Performance management
- Efficient inventory turns
- Minimal non-conformance costs
- High utilization, efficiency & productivity
- Controlling budget & expenses/spending
- Assessing the strength and opportunities of the day-to-day operations and being able to develop appropriate strategies to transform into World-Class Operations
- Having a continuous improvement approach
- Having result & quality orientation, along with being a champion for change management
- Building a solid team in Operations - with good bench-strength
- Developing & mentoring the Operations Management/Leadership team to tackle new and more significant Operational challenges
- Being able to effectively communicate to shop-floor employees, customers & executives, both in writing and verbally
- Act as an advisor troubleshooting and resolving sophisticated problems within multi-departments and cross-functional areas.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- Bachelor's Degree,
- Minimum of 7+ years of successful experience in manufacturing environment,
- Demonstrates advanced understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management,
- Understanding of budgeting and business financial planning,
- Leadership skills and experience in leading change,
- Excellent employee/labor relations skills,
- 10-%15% travel required, visiting customers, suppliers, or partners at HQ,
- Experience with SAP, Excel, Access, and knowledge of VSM, RCA, FMEA, and other Lean/Quality Tools
- Setting you apart from others would be experience in the rail industry, products, and equipment as well as experience with supplier management.

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $130,600-$176,800 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
