The Production Manager (1st Shift) oversees manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires strong leadership to manage and motivate a team, ensure production goals are met on time, and adhere to ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma methodologies. The Production Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, ensures compliance with quality control standards, and fosters a culture of operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight:
- Manage daily production activities on the 1st Shift to meet operational goals.
- Monitor and optimize production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve production challenges and maintain workflow.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of production staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Plan and manage staffing levels to meet production demands.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills and performance.
Quality and Process Improvement:
- Implement and maintain ISO standards across production operations.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality production outputs.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce company safety policies.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence among team members.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Track and report key production metrics, including efficiency, quality, and downtime.
- Use data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to address inefficiencies.
- Prepare shift performance reports and communicate updates to management.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Support new product introductions and process changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications:
Skills:
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with production management software and tools is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- 4+ years of proven experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing or production.
- Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
- Demonstrated experience with ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
