Position Summary
The Production Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of production operations to ensure the efficient and safe manufacture of high-quality solar panels. This role requires managing production teams, scheduling, and resources to meet key production metrics while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Production Manager will also collaborate closely with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in production processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the production process and supervise production teams.
- Plan and execute production schedules to meet targets, adjusting as necessary to maintain efficiency.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance to improve team competency.
- Allocate human and material resources effectively to meet production goals.
- Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and procurement, ensuring optimal operation.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistent production quality.
- Enforce health, safety, and quality standards across all operations.
- Monitor product quality standards, implementing quality control measures to maintain high standards.
- Prepare production reports, manage budgets, and introduce cost-saving measures.
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration with quality, engineering, procurement, and logistics teams.
- Track KPIs, including OEE and labor efficiency per panel.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ADP software
- Strong organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills
- In-depth knowledge of production management, quality control, and health & safety standards
- Results-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to lead a team, resolve personnel issues efficiently, and maintain high attention to detail
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum of 7 years of production experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards
- Preferred: 5+ years as a production manager in a manufacturing plant, with experience in production planning, controls, and instrumentation
