Production Manager - NC - MGM Products

As the Manager of Curb Manufacturing at MGM Products Inc., you will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing and become an integral part of the success of daily operations. This position will help develop standards and improve efficiency, quality and on-time shipments while fostering a safety culture and mindset within the plant.

Job Duties:

• Directs and monitors all curb manufacturing activities to accomplish the manufacturing plan, consistent with company manufacturing and safety procedures. Acts as liaison between management and direct reports to communicate goals, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, engagement and results.

• Ensures the outgoing quality of all finished products, and compliance with all applicable specifications, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements. Tracks and reviews instances of non-conformity and develops continuous improvement action plans to address.
• Ensures production efficiency through leadership of all aspects of production, and cost-effective management of labor/resources, procurement, inventory management, and production planning.
• Works daily with CAD designers to develop and improve designs, reduce errors, and reduce waste.
• Implements all production schedules, monitors and maintains workflow through all departments, and explains and mitigates any variances in schedule.
• Determines the effect of production load changes on plant operations.
• Helps identify, develop, and implement new manufacturing methods, equipment, material planning, and quality improvements.
• Works with Purchasing Manager to assure production materials are available when required. Accountable for monitoring raw material levels and forecasting requirements for long lead time materials.
• Maintains continuous dialogue and communication with the director on the status of safety, quality, production, schedules, capacity, problems and opportunities to maximize efficient operations and to enhance the overall profitability of the company.
• Participates in acquiring talent for key manufacturing positions and assists in their development.
• Conducts employee performance reviews and discussions thoroughly and on schedule.
• Report and investigate all safety incidents -- injuries and recordables, near misses, first aid, environment, and property damage. Assists director in assuring employee physical wellbeing and safety by the development, promotion, and enforcement of an uncompromising safety attitude and good safety practices as measured by a safety record that leads the industry.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned and required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience leading teams of 25+ people in a manufacturing plant. HVAC industry and sheet metal experience is a plus.
• Must be able to read and interpret standard CAD drawings
• Proficient with production planning and monitoring systems.
• Ability to create and maintain an efficient production schedule.
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Adept at building high performance teams with highly engaged employees
• Ability to operate efficiently and methodically in a fast-paced environment
• CAD / CAM experience a plus
• Lean experience a plus.
