About the Job
Our plant in Mountain Top, PA is looking for an experienced Production Manager. The Production Manager oversees and directs day to day operations of the production areas. They assure compliance to established standards and objectives in Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Service, Productivity and Employee Relations
Production Manager Responsibilities
- Utilizing CPI techniques identifies, develops, and implements plans to accomplish and improve departmental productivity goals and objectives as per budget (Production Downtime, Labor, Overtime, etc.).
- Conducts performance appraisals for Product Managers and provides timely and accurate feedback on performance and action goal items.
- Plans and executes departmental audits and reviews in Safety, Food Safety, Process Improvements and Quality areas to ensure meets or above meets performance.
- Responsible for the planning, developing, execution, and maintenance of the Production Department budget and productivity parameters on-going.
- Develops and implements cost reduction/methods improvement projects for Production Department.
- Creates reports as required for Production Department and Corporate Manufacturing.
- Delivers presentations pertaining to Production Department as requested.
- Active participant in all plant committees - Safety, Food Safety, Quality, HACCP, and guides the Production and Support functions on CPI projects.
- Coaches and mentors Product Managers on required and proactive Safety measures and trends, such as trends, department-wide participation, reviews, etc.
- Ensures that Product Managers and Production Department enforces all company policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ensures through Product Managers that department employees are trained on required and mandatory topics and that all necessary follow-up training is well coordinated.
- Ensures through Product Managers ensures that department is up to date on departmental procedures and work procedures and instructions
- Provides recommendations to Product Managers on the hiring, termination, career and succession planning of the Production Department.
- Educates the Product Managers on department metrics, so they have a thorough understanding of trends, challenges, and issues that affect the Production workflow, equipment, and employees.
- Ensures, through Product Managers, that there is open communication between support departments so that negative factors are minimized that affect manufacturing processes, food safety, equipment, Safety, and Employees.
- Works with Human Resources Manager on the development, coaching, career development and succession plans for Production.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or supervisory related role in food manufacturing. Requires three years of experience in the following:
- Production Management including leading manufacturing teams to improve continuously and efficiently supervise production operations to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Using KPIs focused on industrial safety, human factors, food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Regulatory inspections such as AIB, SQF, SMETA, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, FDA, City & County Inspectors.
- Managing quality systems, programs and corporate internal audits.
- Internal audits such as financial, IT systems, and operational.
- Participating in committees such as safety, food safety, and World Class Manufacturing.
- Operating in a diverse business environment communicating and operating within an international setting.
- Directing, coordinating, and leading a team effectively, including HRMS, learning platforms, change management, and training.
- Budget preparation and cost analysis.
- Working in an ERP System SAP Environment.
