Job Details
- Promote and adhere to all plant safety guidelines, ensuring compliance and training in safety procedures.
- Plan and schedule mill and kiln operations, coordinating with maintenance, quality control, shipping, and production teams.
- Supervise production employees, contractors, and quarry workforce, assigning responsibilities, evaluating performance, and maintaining attendance records.
- Conduct daily observation and inspection of operations, coordinating plant clean-up activities, and participating in regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Monitor control room operations, raw mill, and finish mill-grinding operations, assisting in problem resolution to achieve production and quality goals.
- Coordinate incoming shipments of alternative fuels, oversee shipping activities, and assist in plant construction projects.
- Handle discipline problems and grievances, communicate with vendors regarding production equipment and supplies, and provide ongoing information to plant management.
- Control inventories for raw materials, fuels, finished products, kiln refractories, and chemicals, ensuring compliance with budgets and maintaining adequate supplies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field preferred.
- 4 or more years of experience in a supervisory position in a cement or related industry production department.
- Knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, air permit regulations, heat transfer functions, and production machinery.
