Salary Range : $ 51,000 - $65,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The Production Manager at the Ent Center for the Arts is responsible for managing event production, technical equipment, and back-of-house staffing. This includes supervising production staff and contracted crews. The position ensures effective communication between multiple stakeholders to guarantee the smooth operation of public performance venues. They provide primary event support for the Artist Series and rental clients in the Chapman Foundations Recital Hall (242 seats) and Shockley-Zalabak Mainstage Theater (770 seats). Upon request, they also supports THEATREWORKS, UCCS Visual and Performing Arts, and the Galleries of Contemporary Art. Administratively, the PM helps clients interpret production needs, estimates costs, tracks payroll for contracted crews, and manages inventory of production equipment.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Oversee Event Production Advancement:
+ Manage all aspects of event production within the Ent Center for the Arts, ensuring the seamless execution of events by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with clients to define production requirements and establish clear timelines for event success.
Communicate Event Requirements:
+ Lead production meetings and utilize online communication platforms to relay detailed event requirements to production staff, technical crew, and other Ent Center personnel.
+ Ensure alignment between departments and stakeholders for efficient event execution.
Provide Technical Expertise and Design Audio-Visual Solutions:
+ Serve as the primary technical advisor and collaborate with clients and Event Coordinators to design, implement, and manage audio-visual systems for events, offering expert solutions based on event complexity and client needs .
Manage Operational and Event Budgets:
+ Oversee the general operational budget for production as well as individual event budgets.
+ Provide detailed cost analysis, monitor expenses, and ensure financial efficiency while maintaining high production standards.
Hire, Train, Supervise, and Schedule Production Staff:
+ Recruit, train, supervise, and schedule full-time and contracted production staff, ensuring proper staffing levels and matching qualifications to event needs while fostering a culture of improvement and skill development.
Facilitate Payroll Processes:
+ Administer the payroll process for all contracted production professionals.
+ Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll information.
Develop and Implement Equipment Plans:
+ Create and manage plans for the maintenance, protection, and upgrades of production equipment, including coordinating vendor rentals.
+ Ensure the regular upkeep and protection of the Ent Center's Steinway piano.
Enforce Safety and Emergency Protocols:
+ Set and enforce safe-use guidelines for all production equipment and ensure staff are trained in emergency procedures related to back-of-house operations. Regularly update safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety standards.
Facilities and Custodial Coordination:
+ Coordinate with facilities management and custodial staff to ensure that the performance venues are clean, operational, and prepared for events.
+ This includes managing turnaround times between events and ensuring venues meet safety and cleanliness standards.
Other Duties as Assigned:
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education:
+ A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Year-for-year full time professional experience will be considered as a substitution for the degree.
Experience:
+ Professional experience in event production management and technical advancing.
+ Work experience supervising theatrical, audiovisual, and/or event production staff.
+ Experience managing productions of musical, theatrical, and dance performances in a professional venue is highly desired.
+ Experience supporting or coordinating event production and technical operations initiatives, including staff supervision, budget management, rigging, and the design and implementation of audio-visual solutions is highly desirable.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office, Qlab, ETC Lighting controls, Propared, and/or Kx are highly desirable.
Skills:
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities by balancing attention to detail with a focus on overarching production goals, consistently delivering results within set timelines and resource constraints.
