About the Job
We're seeking a skilled Production Manager for our client in the Austin area. The Production Manager is in charge of managing and overseeing the work and assignments of the production staff and ensuring that they follow safety, quality, and SLA standards. The Production Manager also has the responsibility of finding and solving problems, planning tasks, and implementing solutions. The Manager will offer guidance and support on team development, performance, and productivity issues
Production Manager Essential Functions:
· Lead a team of operators/warehouse associates to meet quality/service/cost goals
· Communicate to management the team’s achievements, accomplishments, and productivity
· Enhance the performance of team leads and other team members
· Start and lead improvement projects based on Lean Manufacturing principles
· Manage department KPI’s and pursue improvements
· Participate in the recruitment of new team members
· Drive team’s on-going Lean Sigma training
· Organize and take part in general housekeeping (5S) of work areas
· Prepare work schedules to ensure smooth operations.
· Keep up with the knowledge of processes and equipment.
· Ensure proper product storage
· Ensure that employees follow the safety regulations, policies, and procedures that apply.
· Make sure that paperwork is done and signed correctly.
· Do other related duties as assigned
Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Demonstrated technical proficiency with Laptop, Desktop and Network equipment preferred
· Three to five years of experience in a supervisory / manager role, preferably in Manufacturing, Repair or Operations
· Lean Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations
· Proficiency in MS Excel or related electronic-spreadsheet
· Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
· Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse / manufacturing environment and will be based in Austin, TX location.
Travel
Ability to travel to other locations
Experience
