Summary of Position
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager plans and directs personnel, and the production / packaging processes of donuts across multiple production lines to meet or exceed operational KPIs and Company business plans. The Production Manager oversees a production shift and team including (3) production supervisors and ~ 75 hourly employees.

- Shift: 1st Shift. 1:30 am – 10:00am
- Workweek: Monday - Friday
Essential Job Functions
- Plan and direct plant activities to achieve annual business plan objectives, meeting or exceeding operational KPI targets.
- Evaluate daily order and labor data, equipment failures or operating problems to establish production priorities ensuring customer OTIF service levels are achieved. Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, quality control and HR to obtain and optimize resources.
- Conduct daily disciplined review of KPIs on Redzone. Analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports and metrics to determine root causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems. Observe operations and inspect products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Instill a team culture committed to safety, food safety, quality, productivity, continuous improvement, and positive employee relations.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements that impact safety, OEE, production, housekeeping, and sanitation.
- Partner closely with Director of Food Safety and FSQA team to improve product quality and food safety / quality control standards. Ensure compliance with all food safety/ quality requirements reporting issues to the Production FSQA team.
- Develop train high caliber supervisory team. Plan, assign, and direct work of all personnel. Monitor performance. Reward and, if needed, discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems. Collaborate with HR to select high quality candidates for hire.
- Consult with engineering regarding optimization and modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.
- Master Company policies, procedures, and cultural norms. Advise management team regarding issues with safety, security, employee/ labor relations, scheduling, training and the like. Hold team accountable to standards in a fair and equitable manner.
- Prepare and evaluate reports and documentation for production, down time, efficiency, productivity, scrap, and other reports as required.
- Other projects and duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of manufacturing experience managing people.
- Demonstrated skill and experience in data analytics and quantitative analysis.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic who operates with a sense of urgency.
- Calm and steady demeanor working with people in fast paced environments.
- Someone who promotes collaboration and teamwork with both the desire and ability to lead, train and mentor employees.
- Ability to analyze data, reports and plant performance working methodically through challenges.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Passionate about safety, quality and the customer experience.
- Honest, highly ethical.
- Highly organized, ability to juggle multiple initiatives with excellent attention to detail.
- Computer literate including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Experience in food processing or packaging in an automated, high-speed packaging environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety and food safety regulations (OSHA, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP and GMP), sanitation practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and practical experience in LEAN.
- Spanish helpful but not required.
