Production Machine Operator

Summary:

Set up and operate an automated production machine in the following areas of production:  heads shop, small spin cast, medium spin cast, mat cutting table and winder. Read work order, blueprints, and specifications to determine machine setup and finish dimensions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment independently
• Enter coordinate information into computer control panel
• From complex blueprints, measure and mark tanks
• Observe displays, process, and listen to machine to detect malfunctions
• Replace worn or damaged machine parts
• Correct quality defects
• Clean and maintain robot
• Scoop or pour abrasive particles into hopper of machine
• May trim, sand, and drill parts using shop equipment
• Record production work records
• Check completed projects for conformance to specifications and for quality
• Record and report defects
• Maintain clean products and work area
• Practice safe work habits and maintain safe work environment
• Share industry and company information in the development of new workers
• Assist others as needed
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and receive on the job training
• Willingness to share information in the job training process
• Work alone with minimal direction or as part of a team
• Excellent basic math skills required
• Ability to interpret complex specification sheets required
• Ability to directly communicate verbally required
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language proficiently.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous production experience required

Physical Demands

• Lift up to 20 pounds overhead.
• Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand on concrete floor up to 10 hours per day.
• Wear personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate adequate dexterity and stamina.
• Subject to periodic drug screening.
