We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Production Engineer to support our quickly growing organization and product lines. At Huish Outdoors Engineers have the unique opportunity to work with a vast array of product categories, materials, and manufacturing techniques ranging from high precision machining, plastic injection molding, technical textiles, and many more. Our Engineers are passionate about our products and strive to further their knowledge base through research and experience with emerging materials, design practices, and manufacturing processes.
Working daily with the production and operations team, this position develops improved production processes, work instructions, fixtures and analyzing workflows for operational efficiency. Interact frequently with engineering teams around the world to manage incoming machine cast and molded components, updating production facilities with changes, improvements and validating any outstanding quality concerns.
The Production Engineer works with cross functional teams to assist in sourcing new materials, setting up new production lines, and drive an ongoing effort of continuous improvement of our products and manufacturing techniques. Production Engineer provides feedback critical to our design teams to ensure new products are designed for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing expertise in the following areas: Production workflow and optimization, design engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, product design
- Responsible for component and assembly design using SolidWorks suite and PDM
- Responsible for testing new products and materials and the verification of design outputs
- Accountable for the development and improvement of work instructions and operating procedures in clear collaboration with Quality Control. Ensure instructions and operating procedures provide efficient processes, are easily understood, organized and formatted and implemented.
- Collaborate with Quality Control on the maintenance of Quality Management System, working in coordination with Quality Control for the processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with Product Development for sourcing new materials and driving the ongoing effort of continuous improvement of products in alignment with manufacturing techniques.
- Work in collaboration with the Production teams to ensure adherence to processes and procedures
- Accountable for auditing manufacturing processes and procedures for existing product lines. Ensure scalability and sustainability, analyzing production process expenses
- Accountable for the creation of engineering drawings for manufacturing partners and customer and recordkeeping.
- Collaborate frequently and engage with production partners outside of North American time zones
- Expected travel is 25-35% depending on the needs of the company. May travel to production locations for training where required. Valid Passport recommended.
- Physical Activities include periods of sitting for long durations. May stand for long periods. Long periods on a computer that may emulate blue light. Able to walk through production areas. Able to walk around tight areas and lift up to 20 lbs.

Job Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 3+ years' experience in medical, aerospace or similar industry preferred
- Working knowledge of general dimensioning and tolerances of technical drawings (machining and finishing)
- Demonstrated success in assembly line setup, configuration, measurement metrics and optimization techniques.
- Ability to define workflows via flowcharts
- Skilled at technical writing in English, preferred previous experience
- Experience in production facility engagement, component validation and quality control
- Understanding of fluid dynamics, pressure vessel design and metallurgy is desirable
- Experience with CNC machined products and machining processes
- Advanced knowledge of Solid Works suite of products, and ability to maintain detailed revision controls
- Expert ability to communicate effectively with others including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to others helpful. Use of foreign language outside of English such as Spanish and/or Mandarin useful but not required.
- Expert ability to assertively solve strategic problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Demonstrated success managing projects to completion with minimal oversight and against aggressive timelines preferred
- Expert ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment preferred
