Position Summary:
LEAD Technical (www.lead-technical.com) has partnered with a well-established manufacturer and seeks a Production Control Scheduler. As the Production Control Scheduler, your role is critical in supporting our commitment to achieving 100% on-time delivery and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, managing product flow, and coordinating various aspects of project start-ups, engineering changes, and phase-outs. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate documentation and providing essential support to our engineering and maintenance teams.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Documentation Management: Create and maintain documents for engineering and maintenance staff, ensuring clarity and accuracy in communication.
- Attendance and Vacation Tracking: Keep meticulous records of attendance and vacation schedules daily to ensure smooth workflow planning.
- Travel Arrangements: Set up and schedule all travel arrangements for maintenance and engineering personnel, optimizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Supply Management: Purchase and manage office supplies for the department, ensuring adequate stock levels for uninterrupted operations.
- Shipping and Packaging: Coordinate the shipment and packaging of parts needed to be sent to vendors, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Meeting Support: Record and maintain meeting notes for engineering meetings, ensuring clear documentation of discussions and action items.
- Asset Management: Assign internal asset numbers to machines, jigs, and dies, facilitating effective tracking and management.
- Capital Requisition Tracking: Track and log engineering capital requisitions, ensuring transparency and accountability in budget management.
- Bilingual Support: Provide interpretation and translation services in Japanese and English, supporting communication between team members and assisting Japanese members and their families with official and unofficial issues.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Progression Path without Post-High School Education: Strong supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility, excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency in math, computer experience with Word, Excel, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software or equivalent problem-solving ability and logic.
- Progression Path with Post-High School Education: Preference for a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), which generally results in higher performance levels.
Working Conditions:
- Working Environment: Varied between long days, being on-call 24 hours for customer/production issues, managing/control project phase-out/ECI meetings, high stress, and spending time on the production floor. Requires negotiation with other departments, suppliers, and customers, continuous problem-solving, time management, prioritizing skills, assertiveness, quick decision-making, and swift action.
As the Production Control Scheduler, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, maintaining inventory efficiency, and ensuring seamless coordination across departments to meet customer demands effectively.
