Job Title: Broadcast Production Specialist
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our team as a Broadcast Production Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in facilitating the pre-production and production requirements for our daily live newscasts. You will work closely with various teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of high-quality content to our audience.
**Responsibilities:**
- **Pre-production:** Prepare scripts, tech rundowns, server layout, and Ross automation coding to ensure smooth operation during live broadcasts.
- **PCR Coordination:** Coordinate live-shot logistics with Newscenter and field crews, manage timing/counting of live and pre-produced elements, and facilitate studio floor communication.
- **Content Management:** Track status of edited content for playout, create MOS objects, and verify rundown and playlist status.
- **Cross-training:** Develop proficiency in multiple skill sets to provide relief support as a Director and Material Manager when needed.
- **Directing:** Direct daily studio newscasts and remote productions as assigned.
- **Technical Support:** Track, document, and communicate technical and operational notes to relevant departments, reconcile technical issues, and provide desktop editing support when necessary.
- **Server Playout:** Monitor server playout status during live newscasts and coordinate News content archiving processes post-broadcast.
- **Collaboration:** Collaborate with producers to facilitate production elements including music, graphics, lighting design, camera-blocking, props, and set furnishings.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Generate and distribute technical rundowns.
- Provide production support for News Specials, Creative Services, Sports, Special Events, Digital, and Client production.
- Align production support with departmental and station business objectives and priorities.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Television Production, or equivalent related experience.
- Five or more years of professional experience in television production and directing.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under hard deadlines.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental News production technologies.
- Ability to learn, adapt, and train others on new production technologies.
- Proficiency in production operating systems including ENPS, Bit Central, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Ross Xpression, and equivalent systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Outlook/Teams.
- Submission of video reel with PL track required.
**Compensation:** $27/hr+ commensurate with experience and skill level.
