Job Summary
Accurately assemble rods and complete hydraulic cylinders. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, handle, raise and lower arms/hands, feel objects, tools, or controls or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position is performed in a Manufacturing environment. The employee may work around moving mechanical equipment; may be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Indoor Warehouse temperatures may be affected by outdoor conditions. Noise level is moderate to loud.
Responsibilities and Duties of a Hydraulic Assembly Associate:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Installs seals into the piston and gland and then assembles the rod
• Uses an impact wrench to tighten the nut onto the stem of the rod (calibrate as needed)
• Use torque wrench to check nut torque settings
• Assembles and tests hydraulic cylinders for leaks
• Replaces leaking seals and retests as necessary
• Coordinates with welding personnel for repairs, as needed
• Checks drawings and measures cylinders for stroke and overall length
• Loads completed hydraulic cylinders onto paint line
• Responsible for final inspection to ensure quality products
• Follows safety and security policies and procedures
• Reports unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions to the appropriate individual
• Maintain clean work environment
• Adhere to Six “S” standards and procedures
• Completes task and/or projects as assigned
Key Competencies:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
• Must be mechanically inclined
• Ability to read engineering drawings, use calipers and a measuring tape
• Ability to interpret instructions and respond to management’s direction
• Must be able to read and interpret written information
• Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) clearly with co-workers
• Ability to apply basic mathematical principles such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and fractions
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and attention to detail
Experience Requirements of a Hydraulic Assembly Associate:
• High school diploma or GED and 1 year manufacturing/assembly experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Experience in a production environment preferred
