Production Artist - Nexus Direct

Nexus Direct, an established marketing firm headquartered in Virginia serving non-profit clients nationwide, is looking for a Production Artist to add to our growing Creative Team. This 100% remote position requires a highly motivated, proactive individual who has an exceptional eye for details, and an understanding of how to put the finishing touches on art that is on-brand, with our direct mail and digital campaigns. The Production Artist will need to be passionate about their work and take pride in its accuracy.
Job Description
- Confirm layout specifications align with the final requirements provided by the Graphic Designer, Creative Director, or Production Manager.
- Ensure consistency and cohesive design standards across all projects.
- Create physical mockups for direct mail during the design process to verify print and production specifications are accurate.
- Collaborate with Client Services Team to review, discuss, and implement required edits to campaign creative including digital and direct mail assets.
- Resize digital assets to meet the specific requirements of social media platforms and donation pages.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the project timeline, from kick-off to mailing, and adapt to schedule changes caused by internal or client delays or adjustments.
- Partner with the Production Department to prepare and release all direct mail components for printing and distribution to the lettershop.
- Export digital email and social media assets for development, ensuring proper resizing for mobile optimization.
- Verify the printability of designs, including checks for traps, overprints, minimum halftone dots, and line weights.
- Manage Nexus Direct's image library by sourcing and purchasing relevant stock art, cataloging images, and coordinating with the Finance Department to update client billing for campaigns.
- Oversee client and Nexus Direct logo management, including organization, format conversions, updates, style guide adherence, and distribution of requested assets.
Requirements
- 2-3 years Production Artist experience in the design of direct mail and digital marketing campaigns.
- 2-3 years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) and other design tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of print production processes, including pre-press preparation.
- Knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design principles.
- Knowledge of digital design best practices, including web and social media formats.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Must reside in the contiguous United States.
