This is a unique position and offers a great opportunity to work on TI's most advanced custom products. In this role, as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product and validation engineering, you will have visibility and responsibility for driving execution excellence across the company on projects for TI's largest customer. Your expertise will be called upon to solve the hardest customer issues, and in parallel, train TI product lines to establish command and control, build essential debug capability and tools, and guide those team leaders to successful closure of customer issues. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with design, systems, verification, characterization, test and product engineers to define, develop, and productize the best chips for custom semiconductor devices. In addition, you'll work closely with the Quality and TI Red Team groups on issue resolution for ramping products. Creative, innovative, detail-oriented engineers with strong team and customer interaction skills will find this to be an interesting and rewarding opportunity.

In this unique role as a Product & Validation Engineering SME your responsibilities will include:
- Improve NPD execution by defining and deploying best practices with the primary focus on high profile custom products
- Capturing and proliferating lessons learned forward to new custom and catalog products, ensuring new best practices are adopted
- Initial command and control of new customer issues while developing that expertise within the specific TI product line when needed. Develop team expertise on driving root cause analysis and strong customer communication.
- Improve problem debug capabilities in the product teams by identifying gaps in our validation methodology and driving improvements in the pre-RTM problem debug flow
- Subject matter expert for interfacing with our customers for custom chips for validation and product engineering
- Identifying opportunities to "think like our customer" when reviewing and improving our project validation plans at the system level
- Mentor and develop engineers across TI
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE/PhD preferred)
- 7+ years of product engineering, validation engineering and/or failure analysis
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering
- Extensive track record of success with NPD execution
- Release to Production of multiple devices in multiple factories
- Validation experience across multiple silicon process technologies (power BCD and deep sub-micron)
- Strong background in bench and ATE tools
- Strong background in failure analysis using fishbone diagrams to reach root cause of problems
- Strong verbal & written communications skills
- Strong teaming skills supporting a decidedly positive, creative, innovative, supportive, and rewarding work culture
- Strong customer facing skills - communicating, influencing, relationship building
- Inquisitive, interested, and analytical nature; strong problem solving/innovating skills
- Experience with analog, digital, firmware, power and signal chain devices is preferred
