How You Will Make an Impact?
The Product Quality Manager ensures that Strategic account customer orders are being built consistently and conforming at multiple build plants. They interact with customers to ensure Morgan is meeting the expectations and voice of the customer. They will interface with the customer, engineering, and sales to ensure the order is correct for the plants to build. The Product Quality Manager will conduct audits and perform training as needed to ensure consistency.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Work with customers to review order prior to production to assist in execution of complex and/or high quantity orders.
- Update work instructions and create standard work to ensure consistent results between different Morgan plants.
- Conduct internal audits of Morgan plants to ensure the builds are consistent.
- Perform physical pilots with the customer to ensure we are meeting customer expectations.
- Assist in first article inspections of complex and/or high quantity work orders.
- Work with plants to put in place preventive measure to mitigate risk of defects.
- Communicate results of customer audits and internal audits to Morgan stakeholders.
- Beta test new Quality Standards at different plants to ensure consistency.
- Work with Engineering to improve processes and build methods.
- Conduct problem solving events at different Morgan plants when not working on specific projects
- Assist plants in problem solving warranty claims that affect the strategic account customer builds
- Work on other projects as assigned by the Global Quality Director.

Required Credentials
- Minimum 5 years of quality engineering experience
- Must have the ability to read blueprints and/ or engineering drawings, tape measure, and other quality measuring equipment and tools
- Ability to plan, organize, communicate, and motivate team members
- Must be able to prioritize own work schedule
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detailed work
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Up to 35% travel on average (sometimes up to 50%), domestic and Canada
Preferred Credentials
- Discrete manufacturing or truck body manufacturing experience a plus
- Bachelor's Degree preferred (Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering)
You Must Be Able to
- Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
- This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk or hear. The team member frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms, and lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds.
