What does a Product Manager do, anyway? In plain terms, this usually means:
- Help Set the Big Goals: Help figure out the long-term plan and strategy for the product, what they want it to do and how it should help customers. They make sure it matches the company's goals.
- Learn What Customers Want: They talk to customers, ask questions, and research what people need and want. This helps them build features that actually help customers solve problems.
- Create a Plan (or Roadmap): They plan what will be built and when based on what's most important for customers and the company.
- Choose Features to Build: They decide on the specific features the product should have and prioritize the ones that are the most useful or needed.
- Work with Different Teams: Product managers don't build the product alone. They work with engineers (who code), designers (who make it look good), sales (who sell it), and customer support (who help customers) to make everything come together.
- Make It Easy to Use: They ensure the product is simple and fun to use by working with designers to create a smooth user experience.
- Launch and Track Success: When a new feature or update is ready, they help launch it, track how well it's doing, and see if customers like it by checking numbers and feedback.
- Help with Customer Feedback: They talk to the customer support team about issues people are having so they can keep improving the product.
- Keep an Eye on Competitors: They look at what similar products are doing so their product stays unique and competitive.
- Manage the minutia: Make sure there is a velocity between PM, engineering, and customer feedback.

- You've empowered your team by introducing frameworks that enhance their productivity and scalability.
