Project Overview:
The Product Fairness Analyst will proactively identify emerging ethical and socio-technical abuse trends, investigate machine learning (Client) Fairness incidents, perform deep dives and identify patterns. You’re able to surface actionable insight to mitigate and combat ethical AI concerns across a variety of Client products. In your role, you will closely work with cross-functional partner teams within the AI Principles Ecosystem and across Client (Product, Legal, UX, Operations and Engineering teams), and help solve challenging problems to ensure user trust in Client and our products.
You'll also be supporting Client's flagship generative AI products. A part of a highly motivated, collaborative team, working with teams across the company to explore and better understand how products impact users and broader society, documenting guidance, and problem-solving with data.
Overall Responsibilities: Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.
Ability to work well as a member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.
Ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies and relevance to the marketplace.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Provide socio-technical advice and conduct proactive algorithmic fairness and safety testing to ensure our technologies are not reflecting or perpetuating sociological or socioeconomic inequalities, in support of Client’s AI principles.
Perform deep-dives and case studies into fairness issues and vulnerabilities in advanced technologies, and conduct assessments outlining user impact issues, abuse vectors and trends.
Surface insights and communicate effectively to influence and guide larger, cross-functional working groups towards solutions.
Support algorithmic fairness testing by providing technical, qualitative and quantitative data support in assessing Client models and products.
Skill/Experience/Education
Mandatory:
BA/BS degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Ethnography, PoliSci (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience)
Knowledge of ethics and socio-technical considerations of technology and the future of AI
Strong data analysis skills
Proven ability to manage project priorities and technical resources, plus relationships with multiple partner-teams, and/or vendors.
Experience in internet industries.
Ability to speak and write in English.
Proficient with spreadsheets or similar software, and Google Docs.
Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
Knowledge of or experience with societal and/or civic issues for social good
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Working experience with data analytics tools
PLX, SQL etc- Able to think outside of the box.
Interest in/Knowledge of ethics and socio-technical considerations of technology and the future of AI
