About the Job
Our client is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Product Development Engineering Manager to lead a small team focused on product development and design. This person will have active engagement in day-to-day engineering tasks, coordination with other departments and will lead a small team.
Responsibilities:
- Engage in research and development, as well as product design and improvement
- Oversee a team of 2 Product Engineers and a Designer
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work.
- Manage professional engineering and quality documentation within product development.
- Collaborate with other operational units based on project scope and participate in continuous improvement efforts.
- Supervise and review work of team members on assigned projects.
- Make informed decisions based on project complexity and company impact.
- Clarify and coordinate engineering questions with customers, operational units, and suppliers.
- Train team members in company processes or ensure training completion.
- Present new value-creation strategies for the team and company.
- Identify potential risks and hazards of products under responsibility.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 5+years of full lifecycle product development experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 1 year of management experience.
