About the Job
- Product Development Manager will develop and implement strategies for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demands
- Oversee updates to products, including adjustments to rating algorithms, policy language, and system functionality
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for designated products, providing insights to internal teams and external partners
- Conduct research on regulatory requirements, competitor products, and market trends to guide product evolution and maintain compliance
- Support a team of product analysts, fostering technical growth and maintaining team morale
- Manage regulatory filings for rates, forms, and rules, and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies
- As a Product Development Manager, you will communicate product changes across teams, ensuring clarity and alignment
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for products and processes
- Build and sustain positive collaborations with other departments to support cohesive product management and delivery
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree is required; Professional designations such as CPCU are advantageous
- At least five years of experience in insurance product management, product development, or underwriting
- Strong understanding of commercial property and liability insurance, including coverage, endorsements, and pricing methodologies
- Proficiency in interpreting policy language and crafting contract terms that clearly communicate intent
- Experience in developing and explaining insurance rating algorithms and other pricing models
- Familiarity with regulatory filing processes for rates, forms, and rules
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
