Job Details
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Product Development Engineer is responsible for:
- Maintain adherence to Company policies and safety guidelines.
- Upgrade and modify existing products in support of Company growth.
- Design and implement new product developments projects
- Evaluate new market potential, laboratory investigation, planning, coordinating trials and evaluating end product
- Works with operations and technical departments to set up machine trials, reports on project status and trials, and maintains documentation for ISO compliance.
- Process improvements relating to new technologies including of new raw materials to improve cost and manufacturing efficiency.
- Supports sales, marketing and technical departments in introducing new products and maintaining existing products.
- Works with customers to address problems as required
- Works closely with sales on MAPS, reviewing present standards for paper rates, ensuring MAPS recipes are accurate and activating and deactivating grades as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or chemistry from an accredited college or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in Pulp and Paper Industry
