Job Details
SUMMARY:
As our Product Development Engineer, you will be working with customers to bring concepts to life. Developing new products and redesigning current products. These products are hand trucks or dolly products used to move heavy items.
MUST HAVES:
- SolidWorks and AutoCAD or similar programs.
- Design for Manufacturing for parts.
- Product Development experience from Concept to Production
TRAVEL:
- Up to 25%
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Product Research: Conduct market research, analyze customer needs, and identify market trends to inform product development decisions.
- Product Design: Create product designs, prototypes, and specifications that meet customer and business requirements.
- Product Testing: Develop and execute testing plans to ensure product quality, functionality, and reliability.
- Product Launch: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute product launches, including marketing, sales, and distribution.
- Product Maintenance: Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and implement product updates and improvements.
- Project Management: Manage product development projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teams, including engineering, manufacturing, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment and effective product development.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree preferred in mechanical engineering
- 2+ years of product development experience.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, project management, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in product development software, such as CAD, product lifecycle management (PLM), and project management tools.
- This position is for low-tech, consumer products, primarily for the material handling equipment or moving and storage industry.
