Product Development Associate, Hard Goods and Fragrances - BAMM

Position Overview:

The Product Development Associate will report to the Creative Director and will assist in all aspects of the product development process from concept to market introduction to the retail sales shelf.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and maintain a product development time and action calendar to track progress of new developments
• Develop product specification standards for new product introductions
• Manage the process for product packaging and product labeling information
• Inspect shipments received at the warehouse as needed or required
• Communicate and resolve quality control issues with suppliers
• Review RMAs with the Customer Service Department
• Daily communication with manufacturing partners and packaging suppliers
• Maintain and develop collection color/swatch cards and sales tools as needed
• Develop and establish costing for new collections
• Manage testing of products with an outside laboratory when necessary

Requirements:

• A college degree in a related field or 5+ years of experience in product development is required. Luxury home product development is a plus
• Knowledge of a wide array of manufacturing materials in the decorative home accessories industry with a focus on home fragrance
• Strong color sense and ability to distinguish color
• Possess strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Excellent follow-up skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Work both independently and as an effective member of the team
• Strong attention to detail
