Immediate opening for a Product Designer in Fort Worth, TX who possesses:
- 5-7 years of product designing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably experience with validating dimensions, detailing parts, utilizing commercial parts, generating small assemblies and large assemblies, creating constraints in a model, parametric modeling, and design tables
- Experience with designing configurable products
- Ability to take initiative and self manage

FULL DESCRIPTION: The Product Designer is responsible for contributing in product design projects, development of product CAD technical drawings, and other pertinent engineering documentation. They are completely familiar with the operation of CAD fundamentals, ANSI drawing standards, and general Microsoft Office applications. They generally work alongside a Product Development Engineer or other supervisory role to formulate the required documents. This person is expected to provide high quality and accurate documents.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Contribute to design concepts, complete general documentation layouts, and produce drawings using 2D and 3D CAD programs. This person is a strong contributor to design development and can work with little supervisory direction.
- Create required documentation using Microsoft Office software products. Typical applications would be BOMs, ECRs, ECNs, process specifications, etc.
- Operate within established PCI design and Documentation standards.
- Some correspondence with customers, vendors, and internal customers with respect to design, drawing, or documentation issues.
- Given the requirement of added responsibilities in product development, this person should have a good grasp of project management, inner company processes (purchasing, planning, sales, etc.) and cost so as to better contribute to the design process.
The selected candidate will also possess:
- High school education
- Very thorough understanding of many facets of manufacturing methods including sheet metal/extruded aluminum manufacturing processes. Thoroughly familiar with applicable manufacturing tolerances and associated costs, and how they should be accounted for and designed around.
- Associates Degree in CAD a plus.
- Thorough understanding of 2D and 3D CAD utilizing SolidWorks is required.
- General understanding of Documentation Control Standards and operates within established PCI Design and Documentation standards.
- Strong contributor to continuously improving processes within the department
- Thorough understanding of drafting ANSI standard principals.
- Skilled with MS Excel, MS Word, and SolidWorks.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Leadership qualities to teach and mentor new designer additions to the team.
Salary Range: $30-$34/hr
