As a Data Scientist at RecRoom, you'll use your analytical expertise to mentor other scientists and dive deep into player behavior data to drive impactful decisions across the platform. At RecRoom, we tackle a wide array of challenges, from understanding player retention and in-game monetization to optimizing user-generated content, player engagement, and much more. You're excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Use quantitative analysis to go beyond surface-level numbers and truly understand what drives player engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Build and lead end-to-end analytics experiments, reports, and interactive dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other analytical tools.
- Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, teaching them advanced statistical methods and how to apply them to RecRoom-specific challenges.
- Produce actionable insights and recommendations by applying statistical techniques to run robust experimentation to find / deliver value to players.
- Work closely with game designers, engineers, and our executive leadership team to deliver strategic insights around player behavior, content trends, and platform dynamics.
- Identify and measure key levers to help influence critical player metrics and make strategic recommendations to optimize the player experience.
- Collaborate closely with our Data Engineering org to implement, document, validate, and monitor our data logging and analytics infrastructure.
We're excited about you because you have…
- A degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field, with a focus on user behavior and engagement in digital products or gaming platforms.
- Experience in user segmentation, cohort analysis, funnel optimization, time series analysis, and statistical modeling (e.g., regression, clustering).
- Expertise in SQL, ETL processes, A/B testing, and statistical analysis using tools like R, Python, or similar packages.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools like StatSig, Sigma, or Hex is a plus.
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to tackle open-ended questions in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way.
