FocusKPI is looking for a Product Data Analyst/Scientist to join our client, a high-tech SaaS company. The main function of the Data Scientist is to produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.

Work Location: Remote: anywhere in the US; preferred PST and MST
Duration: 5 months with potential for extension/conversion
Pay Range: $50/hr to $62/hr

Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of statistics, machine learning, programming, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, pose business questions, and make valuable discoveries leading to prototype development and product improvement
- Use a flexible, analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive models and advanced algorithms that lead to optimal value extraction from the data
- Generate and test hypotheses and analyze and interpret the results of product experiments
- Work with product engineers to translate prototypes into new products, services, and features and provide guidelines for large-scale implementation
- Provide Business Intelligence (BI) and data visualization support, which includes, but limited to support for the online customer service dashboards and other ad-hoc requests requiring data analysis and visual support
- Collaborate with analytics and product team to identify high impact opportunities for analysis and align analytics & data science priorities with the company strategy and product roadmap
- Design targeted explorations of our seriously big data, in order to understand trends, find opportunities, and make recommendations to improve user journeys and customer value
- Drive the measurement culture and understand the impact of our product strategy
- Drive quality assurance of metrics within Statsig, documenting them, and identifying discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the Data Science team and Central Statsig support team to address and escalate discrepancies as needed
- Work with the Data Science team to identify additional custom metrics and create them using Databricks
- Establish pipelines for ingesting custom metrics into the experimentation zone
- Create tickets with the central experimentation team to have metrics ingested into Statsig
- Envision, scope, and execute projects by collaborating with partners, customer research, data engineers, and other analysts
- Share your high-quality insights and recommendations to various levels of leadership to drive critical business decisions
- Be part of building an outstanding analytics culture. Leading by example, through education and the creation of self-service tools, to make a lasting change in how your partners use data to make decisions
- Master of Science degree in computer science or in a relevant field; A degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or computer science)
- 5-7 years of relevant experience required
- Proficiency in SQL (stronger SQL skills) is mandatory
- Experienced in either programming languages such as Python and/or R, big data tools such as Hadoop
- Proficiency in at least one visualization tool like Tableau
- Knowledge of cloud data environments (e.g. Databricks, AWS)
- Proven experience applying your analytics skills to projects which have had a positive impact on company level business and product decisions
- Knowledge of T test and Ratio test
- Experience with validating experiments
- Experience with experimentation and data pipelining are required
- Product analytics & Product experience is main part to have with measuring impact for this role
- Experience working with large datasets
- Experience in using statistics as part of your role (e.g. regressions, A/B tests, forecasting)
- B2B industry would be highly preferable
- An agile development mentality, appreciating the benefit of constant iteration and improvement
- Experience with AI is nice to have
- A very high bar for output quality, balancing having something now vs. perfection in the future
- Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences and craft compelling stories (The ability to communicate effectively in writing, including conveying/explaining complex information and promoting in-depth engagement on course topics to diverse audiences, and craft compelling stories)
- Experience with stake holder management
