Responsibilities:Carolina Casualty’s internship program immerses you in transportation insurance business, provides you with the opportunity to showcase and hone your skills, enhances your business knowledge and professional growth, encourages networking and offers assignments/projects in specific areas of study.
Carolina Casualty seeks creative, curious, innovative and entrepreneurial candidates for its internship and development program. The selected candidate will work hand-in-hand with the company’s senior leaders across a wide range insurance operations, claims and underwriting initiatives.
Key Functions will include but not be limited to:
- Assist the department with creating the company’s product including, but not limited to, forms, manuals, member policy package, implementation of forms, etc., to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Help draft and prepare filings and responses to negotiate approval for form and rule filings with the Department of Insurance (DOI) and Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) through to completion.
- Research competitors for opportunities for improvement.
- Help interpret insurance forms, statutes, rules, regulations, develops conclusions, and makes recommendations.
- Help compile, analyze and report on product market trends to assist in determining product strategy.
- Assist with any special projects assigned.
Qualifications:
- Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Risk Management and Insurance (or other applicable major) preferred.
- A rising Senior is preferred
- GPA of 3.0 and above required
- Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career related work experience within the industry
- Career Interest in Insurance
- Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
