Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team at Davey Tree Expert Company. The Procurement Manager will play a critical role in optimizing our procurement processes, building supplier relationships, and driving cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management, coupled with excellent analytical and leadership skills.
The position reports to the Director of Procurement.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Manage and lead the procurement team to ensure seamless operations and optimal performance.
- Evaluate, select, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best value for the organization.
- Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions.
- Oversee inventory management to ensure sufficient supply without excess stock.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
- Implement procurement tools and systems to streamline processes and reporting.
- Prepare, analyze, and present reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and supplier management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement systems, tools, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
